Yesterday, we were fortunate enough to meet with staff from WXXI who not only impressed us with their operations, but with their enthusiasm for the GardenAerial Project and the Greentopia Festival. It was a splendid meeting with enthusiastic supporters who saw the connection between their mission and our own. If you haven’t had the chance to go visit the “digs” at WXXI, we would strongly suggest you do so. It is modern, airy, and more importantly, our own as a public supported station.
We discussed so many possibilities and drew lines between what WXXI was doing and what we are hoping to accomplish with the GardenAerial and the Greentopia Festival. What is so encouraging is the power of collaboration. So many things can be done through collaboration and innovative thinking, and frankly if yesterday’s meeting was any indication of what might be possible, we are extremely encouraged. We all agreed that one of the most important areas of focus for our community is in moving Rochester towards a more greener pasture. WXXI, undoubtedly, will be a wonderful addition to what is already a tremendous list of supporters, which will help us pave the way towards a more “greener” High Falls and Greater Rochester. We want to thank our new friends at WXXI for their interest, supportive words and the future possibilities.
